It’s really important to stay in the Word. Most of us would agree with this sentiment. The harsh reality is that we can get so busy trying to fulfill our obligations that we neglect the study of God’s Word. I’ve been in church all my life. I’ve participated in many programs aimed at encouraging Godly parenting, marriage, finances, outreach to the poor, and evangelism. All of these programs have helped change my thinking. They have replaced my incorrect thoughts and replaced them with the truth of God’s Word. We need to do the same thing concerning our work. Study what the Bible says about the role of work in our lives and apply it to our daily behavior.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 (NLT)
