Managing people is not an easy task. Managing people makes you vulnerable. As a follower of Christ, I try to manage people with the heart of a servant. I pray for the people I manage. I am honest with them about their strengths and their weaknesses. I try to extend grace and forgiveness. Inevitably, I fail to be a good manager at all times in all situations.
It is even more difficult to be the one being managed. It makes you vulnerable to your manager. As a follower of Christ, I try to be an employee with the heart of a servant. I pray for the people who manage me. I’ve even had a couple of managers with whom I could be honest with them about their strengths and their weaknesses. I try to extend grace and forgiveness. Inevitably, I fail to be a good employee at all times in all situations.
Do your best. I think that understanding, grace, and forgiveness are the most important attributes whether you are the boss or the one being bossed.
Also, do not take to heart everything people say, lest you hear your servant cursing you. For many times, also, your own heart has known that even you have cursed others. Ecclesiastes 7:21(NIV)
